Da Nang and our arrival in Hoi An

We flew into the airport at Da Nang yesterday on our way to the ocean.  Da Nang is a large modern city practically throbbing with youth and energy.  The lights were bright and colorful and young people on motorbikes were out on the streets and swarming outdoor cafes for the holiday.  Each bridge across the river is lit with colored lights, and the main bridge is a multicolored dragon, with each loop of his back acting as a bridge support.  The dragon swooped and swirled, and changed colors as we drove over him.  We made our way out of Da Nang down to the world-heritage town of Hoi An, where we are staying outside of town on the beach.  It's lovely.  There are Palm trees and sand and little beach shops and open-air restaurants all around.  The beach is lined with natural palms and the water looks warm and calm.  Did I mention that tomorrow is a free day for students?  I'm sure everyone will be catching up on their journals and doing laundry...
