Just another little temple

Banteay Chmar is 12 square KM of temples and buildings, all in ruins and cut through by roads, little villages, forests, and rice paddies.  Every now and then another ruined stupa or pile of stone would just be standing there, unremarkable. We stopped quickly to see a relatively intact stupa just outside the village.  In the rainy season it's surrounded by a small moat, even though it's a little temple.  What's so interesting is just how normal it is to have 1000 year old ruins all around.  They aren't special, just part of the everyday social surround.
